SWF to Video (avi) HELP ME?!

Posted by secondstamp - November 3rd, 2011

Hey cool kids,

I want to convert all my shit to avi so people
can watch my animations on YouTube.

Does anyone here know a program that can
actually convert video and audio from a .swf
WITHOUT frame dropping?

Inb4 SWF2VIDEO - tried it and at 99% or someshit
it just stopped and never exported my avi.

GOT SOME GOOD SHIT COMIN' PEOPLE

Callum

BTW: pic related; it's me when I get a good
program and baking a cake for you. THIS CAKE IS
NOT A LIE (:

SWF to Video (avi) HELP ME?!

Comments

WHYYYYYYYYY?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY THIS QUESTION AGAIN!!!! USE FLASH ITSELF!! ALL CAPS! OMG... Archive, Export Movie, QuiclTime .mov, be sure you dont have any stop(); or ActionScript that makes a loop in the movie. That's all!

my movie has stops and shit in it because it has interactive menus

Just copypasta to a new fla the frames you want. A converted such swf2avi will not exactly do a perfect work, never will. Flash will export at full quality, because fla to movie is way better than swf to movie.

just export from flash, removing the coding. Also, make sure your framerate is 30fps because flash export will fuck up anything else.

Im not sure about the framerate thing, it does perfect at 24fps to me. Just be sure the QuickTime version you have installed is compatible with your Adobe Flash version.

ive been looking for one to bud... If you have access to premiere you can export swfs as movie types liked that and rip the audio from the swf with a compiler software and bring it in the audio time line in premiere.... i did that for some of my youtube vids the other i said fuck it and exported using so think swf to avi software and theres still an annoying watermark flashing by...... but fuck it........... =P

Hey Dave! Thanks, I actually have premiere installed so I will try.

Why do all animators have the egoraptor center parting?

It's a homosexual thing, you wouldn't understand

its pretty amazing how still in 2011 it's so complicated and a pain in the ass. i mean seriously ADOBE why didnt you do something about this?

what i found out that if you export straight as avi out of flash it will mostly gay up which is AWFUL. say you are using a vcam or any code- avi won't support this.
now here is an amazing trick: QUICK TIME DOES SUPPORT THIS. why? ive no clue beats me.
so your best bet is to export as quicktime mov and either just upload that to youtube because its fine with quicktimes and will convert the video to FLV anyways or convert your quicktime to avi for whatever reason you have.

something else that works (but no AS support like vcam): open your SWF in AE and export right out of after effects.

i hope that helps in any way.

cheers

also another way would be export every frame and export the audio and then put both back together in AE or Premiere or Final Cut or whatever

Oooh I'll try this too. Thanks.

If you are going to post your movie on youtube, there is no reason for using actionscripting such as "stop commands", scince you will be exporting nothing more than a video. I suggest you make a second version of your movie without the actionscripting, and then export it as Quicktime. Thats what I do, and it works perfectly. Plus most of the flash to video converters have a considerable low exporting quality, with quicktime you will always have 100% quality.

hope that helps!

I dont have the .fla files any more, just the .swf ;O and they have menus with actionscript. Still mostly animation tho.

I'm trying to figure this out too. if you find out how can you tell me please? :D

I will and Im close.

Export audio separately and export only the stills as .PNG files. Put both audio and frames back together in After Effects and export. You'll get funky HD shit and all, bro!

The stills? wat

yeh molkman is suggesting the same thing (one of the things) I was also suggesting which is a good solution.

he meant you should export the stills as in every single frame (you know you can export every frame out of flash).

this might be a problem now since you say you only have the SWF but no FLA but you could load the SWF back into flash and try to export as stills that way and maybe it even lets you export the audio seperatly.

Keep me updated on that because Im not really sure how to do that. ;O

I've had great success with SoThink SWF to Video Converter.

somehow all gets fucked up and the colors look weird for me

I can't offer much, flash ain't my field :/
nonetheless good luck.

I use an older version of AdShareit.com's SWF2video and it's FUCKING BOSS WITH NO SCREWING AROUND, the only real problem is that the audio export blows, its better to just go re-add the audio in post.

HOWEVER one problem I did have that really jerked my fucking cock until I figured it out (which sounds like the same issue you're having with it) if you try to export as a raw AVI with too big a destination file size (I think it's anything over 2 gigs, at least for me it is) it still renders the file but it ends up corrupted. The way I get around that is to render it in sections by setting the to and from frames. Which you can also use to skip actionscript stops like menus etc.

I HOAP THAT HALPS YUO

FUCK. Okay give it to me if thats possible. I can only find a new version.

By the way exporting movies is awesome but when uploading em to
youtube it takes fucking HOURS

OH ALSO addendum to the above, SWF2Video shits the bed if you're using any current versions of Flash player, which will be a problem eventually I guess but not really right now. WHAT YOU GOTTA DO is get the flash player 9 rollback from the Adobe site.... I guess I lied when I said there was no screwing around, because it actually takes quite a bit of screwing around, but once you get it right it's just SO GOOD

OKAY BUT. Do you think you could help me with some .swf files turning em into awesome video files? I would praise.

1. Go to thepiratebay.org
2. Illegally download a screen recorder
3. Record your animation
4. Beep bap skibidee-bap

isn't it "scoobidee-bap"?

yeah using a screen recorder and exporting the audio separate and then putting them together in another program like premier or something i dunno.
i'm still in the process of making my 1st flash submission but that's the info i've seen around. sometimes they say the frame rate might get screwed up if you use screen recorders so they say to reduce it and then record it then speed it back up after its recorded to the normal framerate to prevent lag during the high Framerate recording.

either that or export as a .mov and see if that works seems ppl say that that will work

Ja just PM me and I'll help you sort it

Have you ever tried the swf to video conveter from moyea <a href="http://www.swfkits.com/swf_to_video/">http://www.swfkits.com/swf_to_video/</a> ?
It probablely the most professional swf to video solution in the industry.

DWIGHT YOU GENIUS. Ill give it a spin.
